Vicky Hunter:
Victoria Hunter is a Practitioner-Researcher and Professor in Site-Dance at the University of Chichester, U.K.
She completed a PhD in site-specific dance performance exploring the relationship between the site and the creative process in December 2009.
Her research is practice-based, productions include:
Beneath (2004) situated in the basement of the Bretton Hall mansion building, Yorkshire,
The Library Dances (2006) situated in the Leeds Central Library building,
Project 3 a durational dance installation performed at Bretton Hall (July 2007)
Wingbeats (2011), a dance exploration of South Landing beach, Flamborough North Yorkshire,
Dancing the Beach a site-dance project exploring relationships between bodies and beaches through improvised dance (West Wittering June 2013),
The Abbots Dances, George Abbot Almshouse Hospital, Guildford, (Sept 2014)
Your Dance, performed at the Magna Carta Great Fair, Royal Holloway (2015).
A Holding Space (2021) created and performed at Kingley Vale nature reserve, West Sussex.
She has worked with Melanie Kloetzel (Canada) and Karen Barbour (New Zealand) on a co-authored publication: (Re) Positioning Site Dance, Local Acts, Global Connections for Intellect press (2019) and her monograph book publication, Site, Dance and Body: Movement, Materials and Corporeal Engagement was published by Palgrave in February 2021.
